A peek inside
You signed on as the summer cook at Rifugio Larice, a stone hut at the head of a high valley in the Dolomites, with a cable lift for supplies. On your first evening the hikers have gone to bed, the dining room smells of barley soup and woodsmoke, and the peaks outside are turning pink.
