Character.AI filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October 2026 and says its service is still up and running. If you would like a second place for AI character chat while that plays out, this page explains plainly what yearnmore is, what it is not, and who it is for.
What is happening with Character.AI
On October 12, 2026, Character.AI announced that it had filed for Chapter 11 and was looking for a buyer. In the same post it said the app remains available while that process runs. Chapter 11 is a restructuring process, not a shutdown, and the service was still available on the date shown on this page.
We will update this page when the company shares news. For anything about your own Character.AI account or chats, its official announcement is the source to trust.
Who yearnmore is for
yearnmore is for adults aged 25 or older. Every character is an original fictional adult, also 25 or older, written for yearnmore. There are no fan characters, characters from TV, games or books, or characters based on real people.
Sexually explicit or adult content is prohibited on yearnmore, including in voice calls. If you mainly chat with fan characters or want a large library of community-made bots, yearnmore is probably not the right fit.
